Soft skills are the abilities that make us human beings and allow us to interact with each other harmoniously. It is important to evaluate the development of soft skills in workers because it allows us to identify which areas are strong and weak and why they are, also to generate good work teams that evolve and innovate organizations, giving a new meaning to people not only as objects but as agents of change.

By assessing soft skills for individuals you can learn a lot about each persons unique strengths and weaknesses. This allows you to tailor your approach during conversations around feedback, or how to get the most out of them. The biggest advantage of this for Me is by knowing someone’s individual soft skill strengths and weaknesses, you can navigate difficult interactions of miscommunication by understanding someones reactions may not be a reflection of what they think of you, but rather the way they communicate.

Speaking of behavioral assessment; first impression’s speaks volumes. If someone walks in with a disheveled appearance and inappropriate language for example, may not take their role serious enough. They could make other employees and customers uncomfortable with their behavior. Also observing body language enable’s you to learn about a person’s interpersonal skills. It can help inform you whether they are lying or answering honestly. Excessive nervousness in a person generally can mean they are unsure about themselves and whether they feel they can meet your standards. They doubt their own abilities and may end up as underperformers.
