It may not seem that your failures are impactful towards your career journey, but in hindsight those moments are where your true learnings emerge. When I first launched and failed at my start up, those lessons learned would be the foundation to propel my career and confidence forward. In failure, you learn how to adapt to your environment, understand how to pick yourself back up, and ultimately learn more about yourself and expand your self awareness. Most importantly, you get exposed and stretch your threshold of risk, allowing you to endure your ability to venture outside of your comfort zone, fail again, pick yourself back up, and repeat. Without failures, it means your stagnant. So failures will always ignite your growth.

Accepting and learning from failure is something that’s been incredibly important both in business and my personal development. I would not have achieved half of what I have without learning to accept failure and not dwell on it. No one gets everything right all the time. If you can find it acceptable to get things wrong and fail then you can build resilience both personally ans professionally. It’s important to reflect & learn from your mistakes & failures understand why they occurred and how they might be mitigated in the future. It’s important to appreciate that not all failures are your fault. The market & world changes constantly and sometimes the sands shift and you aren’t able to adapt. Accept it happened and move forward.

Success is a party, but failure is a classroom. What you learn by failing builds your skills, resilience, and innovative thinking. I can assure you that I would not be where I am today if I had not failed enough to learn how to succeed. A case in point is an international project in a challenging area of the world where everything I tried seemed to fail. It was the wrong client, the wrong location, the wrong approach....you name it. However, I packed up the lessons learned over those years and used that knowledge to make my next assignment one of the most successful and rewarding of my career.

Make your action plan- Let me give you an eg; I once worked with a small business that experienced a significant drop in sales after launching a new product line. Instead of panicking, they sat down as a team & asked themselves some tough questions: Did we properly research our target market? Did we effectively communicate the value proposition of our products? Did we overlook any potential obstacles? By asking these specific questions, they were able to pinpoint areas for improvement & develop an action plan to address them. They revamped their marketing strategy, refined their product offerings& retrained their sales team. As a result, they not only recovered from their initial setback but also saw a significant increase in sales.

When you fail, you learn "how not to do things"! Focus on learning from your mistakes, its the small changes and minor improvements which will help you grow on the daily. The one thing to stop yourself from doing is to repeat the same mistake. So analyze yourself because no one else knows more about you. Stand tall and take ownership on the mistakes you make and rise up to improve.

We often fall into the trap of thinking we have to go into it alone. But the truth is, seeking support & feedback from others can be invaluable, especially when facing failure. Whether it's reaching out to mentors, networking with fellow entrepreneurs or soliciting input from your team, don't be afraid to ask for help. Together, you can brainstorm ideas, identify areas for improvement & develop a plan of action. By seeking support & feedback, you can gain fresh perspectives & valuable insights that can help you overcome challenges and take your business to the next level. Don't be afraid to lean on others when you're facing failure. Chances are, they have been in your shoes before & can offer guidance to help you navigate through it.

Always be ready to ask for help when needed. Or have a group of people that you can talk out your ideas and or decisions. Different perspectives can give you better understanding of the situations. In every situation that you receive feedback be ready to close the feedback loop by discussing and implementing changes from the feedback. The circle you have around you determine how much you will grow, so choose people who can be constructive and helpful in that growth. Positivity always helps, so stay around positive people.

It’s important to remember that failure is a universal experience and reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Whether it’s from mentors, peers, friends, or family, having a support system can provide valuable emotional reassurance and practical guidance. Being open and receptive to feedback allows you to gain different perspectives and insights that can help you learn from your mistakes and move forward with greater confidence and resilience.

The three Ds. Determination, Discipline and Dedication keep these these in mind always and ask for support and advice, but I generally think without these three qualities no amount of advice will help you. Its what separates the wheat from the chaff.

Experimentation is key. Instead of placing all your bets on one big idea, why not test out multiple hypotheses in small, manageable steps? This approach allows you to gather feedback quickly, iterate on your ideas & course-correct as needed. I once worked with a medium-sized business that was looking to expand into new markets. Instead of diving in headfirst, they decided to take a more cautious approach. They launched pilot programs in a few select regions, testing out different marketing strategies/product offerings. They gathered data on what worked & what didn't without risking too much upfront. This helped them refine their approach, gradually scaled their operations & ultimately achieving success in their expansion efforts.

Expérimenter et itérer est nécessaire, bien entendu, pour poursuivre vers la réussite de votre projet. Mon conseil est assez simple... L'échec est (trop) grand si le projet que vous menez est le seul ou ne comporte qu'un aspect. Travaillez ainsi sur plusieurs streams, découpez le projet et divisez les risques. l'échec d'un seul stream ne mettra pas l'entièreté du projet à la poubelle mais vous pourrez vos en servir pour réussir les autres streams menés en parallèle. Logique non?

But taking the time to acknowledge and celebrate your wins, no matter how small, is crucial for maintaining morale and motivation. Think about it like this: every milestone, no matter how minor, is a step forward on your journey to success. So why not celebrate them? Whether it's treating your team to a pizza party after hitting a sales target or taking yourself out for a nice dinner after closing a big deal, find ways to mark your achievements and acknowledge the hard work that went into them. Surrounding yourself with good people is also important to boost your self-esteem and morale.

Sometimes a win, no matter how minor, is all that you need to keep going. Don't brush aside victories, no matter how small they may be. They are morale boosters and are powerful.

Quoi de mieux que de célébrer une victoire??? Et bien par expérience, on a tendance à tort, selon moi, à les banaliser, notamment lorsque nous en engrangeons quelques unes. Chaque victoire mérite une célébration, aussi petite soit-elle : un bon mot à celui qui a réussi, un verre entre collègues, un échange devant ses pairs. Bref, on a souvent tendance à plus parler ou analyser ses échecs. Analysez vos victoires pour les dupliquer, c'est tout aussi essentiel (et bien plus agréable).

A different take on "positive attitude" is accepting that failure is part of business growth. Taking a positive view that a loss or failure is something to learn from and build on rather than the end of your business or entrepreneur journey is a critical mindset of those that succeed. Obviously the other above steps are important. Analyse where things went wrong so you don't repeat. Lean on your network, and if you don't have one, find or create one. Bouncing ideas off of others can offer different perspectives and new ideas. Also knowing that no matter how bad things go there are people who have it worse, have lost more, or lost everything. Failure is relative.

Having a positive attitude, or at least learning to cope with failure, is essential. Failure is part of our lives, there is no way we can be succesful with everything we do, not only because we may achieve our goals, but also because of our subjectivity. Something may be a success for someone else, but a failure for us. So reducing the weight we give to failures, without reducing the effort we put into improving, is essential for growth. The only way to feel that we can't fail is to do things we are 100% comfortable with and that we understand perfectly, but life has many more things where we are clueless.

One if the best mindset is positivity in everything you do may it be anything. Business with positive attitude are key towards success. Coping with failures needs positive attitude.

Une attitude positive est vraiment primordiale pour durer, pour entra?ner les autres dans votre projet, mais... un ou une associée ayant un caractère pessimiste ou plus terre à terre, peut vous aider parfois à garder les pieds sur terre et à mieux analyser les risques ou différents éléments. Cette attitude, qui ne vous atteindra pas si vous êtes optimiste, vous permettra d'être plus complet : se concentrer sur les opportunité et conna?tre la situation vraie dans son ensemble.
