While I agree defining clear goals and metrics is important, if you are already at the point of scaling and haven't done this, you might be in real trouble already. The very first step of any AI project, including generative AI, is to identify the problem you want to solve and how you will measure success. Then you build a "minimum remarkable product" that will help you start testing and exploring the hypotheses. Once you have determined you can solve the problem with AI, then you begin to scale. Even at scale, you still need to pay close attention to the metrics of success to ensure that the solution you are building remains true to the task as it grows in users and scope.

It doesn't matter whether you are working on an AI project or expanding a country's boundaries; it follows a simple rule that Sun Tzu articulated: 'Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.

Data drift is the concept that while the initial training set (data) gets you the results you want for your model the data set you own changes.
