I've focused on building my brand on LinkedIn over the last year. What I DIDN'T do on LinkedIn was write a bunch of "Book Now!" posts or do a lot of cold outreach. Instead, I've chosen to focus on educating my network on how investing in their personal brand, including photography, can create more professional opportunities. I don't focus on selling; I focus on becoming the go-to lifestyle headshot expert in my area. Building my brand on LinkedIn is not a short-term effort. The goal is to be the photographer the people in my network call when they are ready to get their headshots done - whether that's next week or five years from now. Sharing my business journey allows my network to be part of my journey and become personally invested.
