It is important that the team understands the expectations, goals and timelines of the project, so they feel prepared and understand what resources are necessary. By outlining the scope and objectives the team is able to use their resources in an effective way whilst being timely.

Without a predefined timeline and budget, the process could become disorganized, prolonged, and costly. Establishing a realistic timeline allows for efficient planning, resource allocation, and task prioritization. It allows for clear communication and alignment of expectations, helps in track of process where we are in terms of investigation. Need to discuss the outcomes of each milestone with parties involved so that it enable them to understand the additional time and budget the whole investigation require.

Before all of the above, you need to consider a reliable team of the audit, and ensure that there is no conflict of interest or relations with the parties you need to audit. By this you will be more comfortable about the result of the audit process. Also, I do believe that DD should be done in full bases, not consintrating on an area and leave another.
