One important factor to consider when integrating data from external sources: you don't own the data. This means that whatever external source you integrate can change the schema of the data at any moment without advance warning. It may be necessary to capture incoming metadata to validate that the data meets the expected schema and format. Also have profiling tools in place to check the data, in case it changes unexpectedly. As the old saying goes, trust but verify.

Some points in mind when you design your in data pipeline: > Separate your extracting processing from another components: reusable the transforming processes in your data pipeline. > Use template as possible: the structure can be same but the transforming processes can changes on the time. > Use right processing approach: ETL to get faster high valuable data, ELT to get available data. > Use right data modeling to connect data from several kind of structure; while preserve some properties like agility, development, performance, scalability, etc.
