I believe it is important to regularly ask for feedback from the students on your performance. I would recommend doing so once a week. I prefer using online feedback forms, to cut back on paper usage and to keep the feedback anonymous. What is most important though, is to act on the feedback you receive. A great teacher is one that listens carefully to what his/her students think is best for them and helps them as much as possible!

In my opinion, a crucial element within the feedback dialogue is avoiding the vague generalities such as "good job" and "needs improvement". Instead, I try to pinpoint specific elements of the lecture that I found effective or could be enhanced. In that sense, our feedback dialogue is mainly generated about the clarity of explanations, the usage of visuals and the amount of audience interaction. From my perspective, an emphasis on clear feedback dialogue increases efficiency.
