Once you have established a relationship built on trust, the landscape for constructive observations has been set and, if delivered with empathy, will be received graciously and gratefully. Weather constructive or not criticism is neither helpful, nor necessary. What is needed is empathetic insight that reinforces a team approach to performance. Your cast or crew member, must believe that they are not alone in their task, but that they are part of a larger whole, that is working toward something meaningful.
