Journalisitic writing should say more in less words and be clear and concise. Also, it should clearly state what it wants to say as contextual clarity is important. Hence, to excel as a journalistic writer, one must practice the skill of saying more in less!

A good journalist's writing skills are evident in accuracy and simple language. By simple language, I mean using words and phrases that can carry outright meaning to readers. A journalist's writing should be concise as well. In a world where truth has been diluted so much, you could spare your readers long sentences with extra grammar. Be concise.

In my experience verification should always be available for the reader as well, when readers trust us enough to forget about where we got the information we are conditioning them to believe anything they read. As a journalist i like to encourage my readers to prove me wrong, to discuss, and to check twice within the information presented.

A good journalist must be able to communicate with the soul of readers. This can be achieved mostly by the verbosity of his work. In a world where people no longer find reading interesting, it is important that you imbibe clarity as a journalist.

In my experience, impact is one thing that is quite unpredictable, big journals can have poor impact articles just as small journals can have huge impact articles, i think impact and relevance are given when investigations are human-centered, and focused on creating an impact towards society more than novelty. I believe this is translated in how many people actually connect with the knowledge behind the journalist himself.
