There are many ways in which extensions are useful, certainly using extensions from reputable sources is a wise strategy, but never be afraid to create your own extensions, if you feel that you are dealing with too many extensions or with an overkill extension that requires too much overhead to acomplish a simple use case, consider to create your own extension, remember, extensions may contain aditional code that impacts your SEO, using fewer extensions or create your own extension could make the difference in your website.

Consider to choose a HeadlessCMS, as awesome as Wordpress, Drupal and Wix are, there are a lot of limitations that might affect you, consider using a Headless CMS such as contenful, Prismic or DatoCMS and create your own website using the technologies you know and love in order to provide a tailored experience to your audience at the same time you improve your SEO score and reduce your dependency from your CMS.
