With my knowledge: There are many risks associated with user access using SSO methods, however, an attacker can access any app that the user has permission to use if they manage to obtain the user's SSO credentials. Therefore, making SSO easy to use and convenient must be maintained efficiently and correctly to avoid associated SSO difficulties. Consequently, the SSO strategy needs to take care of the following: enable HTTPS, choose secure and strong authentication methods, write efficient SSO policies, train staff, manage application access correctly, and monitor user behaviour with SSO usage.

Simplification means making the process uniform on as much of the infrastructure as possible. SSO needs to prioritize the user experience, which means consistency and simplicity matter. Don't lose sight of the trope about the man with two watches never being sure of the time. As with so much in tech, it pays to choose something with broad standards compatibility, that's popular across the industry, and preferably one with an actively maintained open-source implementation. We have had good success with KeyCloak, as an OIDC and SAML proxy. It unifies what often becomes a hetrogeneous tool, and lets our users be backed multiple SSO implementations adopted by different parts of the organization.
