What are the best practices for citing sources in digital libraries?

In the social sciences, normally we use APA and IEEE methods for citation. The use of Endnote and Mendly solves all issues and gives many options.

For me, I usually would use ENDNOTE for my referencing, and using different styles depending on the journals or books requirements. It is easier to use the software for organizing and using the library including search for a keyword - all this provided that you have included the details properly when you searched originally for the article/or book and when needed it would be easy to locate and reference. I have always included a date when I opened an online document or link I've reference e.g. 'accessed 19 Jan 2024'. This shows when that particular version of a paper was live given that online documents are often updated or more than 1 version produced.
