IMO Zachman framework is one of the best frameworks to develop data architecture as it provides placeholder and guidance to develop model for different perspective (conceptual to implementation) which ensures completeness. Each model should have enough information so that top level stakeholder get overall structure and other stakeholders of corresponding perspective can use these model as X-Ray implement requirement or identify problem area.

Selecting a framework depends on the kind of problem we are planning to solve. They act as a guide to implement technical solutions. There are some generic frameworks such as Kimball and Inmon which are present for a long time. Apart from that there are a lot of reference architecture present on Azure , Google cloud and AWS sites which can be tailored to fit our requirements.

Start with the bases, every data architecture (at least I don't see anything outside of this until now) is always encompassed in streaming or batch (or combinations of them) and from there work frameworks such as Kappa and Lambda are broken down and then there is the tech stack that you can obviously use to take into account your data architecture depending on the case. So start by asking the right questions to, from there, identify in which silo the solution you are going to have should be found and it will help you navigate the complexity of services for each silo.
