Another important benefit that I don't see listed here is that by virtue of participation of senior leadership from various functions/BUs/departments in the governance council and steering committee, it builds consensus and more importantly the sponsorship for important data governance initiatives to tackle pressing data challenges in the organization. Sponsorship helps in driving these initiatives in the organization more effectively.
