In my experience Agile teams and scrum masters are focussed on the sprint in front of them, missing a key step that isn’t specified within the Agile framework (to my knowledge). Before your stories and sprint phases can begin, you should grade each customer requirement as ? “High Quality Requirements” - these progress into sprint phases as we clearly understand what the customer wants/needs ? “Low Quality Requirements” - these are rejected back to the customer for further development as there is a lack of clarity In conducting this exercise upfront and early in development, we can almost guarantee we understand the customer needs and wants. This will save time and effort in late requirement changes that in turn drive design changes.

My team have mapped the Agile process and conducted a PFMEA, the risks within the process have indicated 3 key areas for Quality involvement 1- Identifying the Product Vision If we have a poor understanding of the VoC and their needs/wants, the product Vision could be way off course 2- Plan Sprints Sprint Planning must take into account the lesions learnt from the previous Sprint phase. Quality must be the independent voice that assess the corrective action (lessons learnt) and ensure these actions are in place for the current Sprint Plan 3- Holding Sprint Retrospective (Lessons Learnt) Recording of lessons both good and bad is vital to any effective process. Quality should Ensure corrective actions are completed before the next Sprint
