Am I understanding the change to be from knowledge areas to performance domains? The names of the domains are very similar to the knowledge areas.

Sí, decididamente el Sistema del PMI PMBoK7 es el centro del Sistema planetario de la Gerencia de Proyectos actual (2023) donde todos los planetas son las diferentes formas o enfoque o Way of Working de hacer proyectos (predictivo, PMBoK6, ágil, adaptativo, Lean, Scrum, Kanban,....) que giran alrededor del sol (para generar energia....luz) o en el Sistema del PMI PMBoK7 (para generar valor de negocio).

Each project is different and it gets further complicated based on the organization. These factors make it complex. Therefore, we need to apply different approaches and methodologies for different projects. As a professional you should be able to adapt the best hybrid approach to your project. Because you are the best person who knows the scope, organization and context. Adapt the best practices and standards to tailormade your strategy.

That reflects recent trends in the Product-centric management approach. It's now less about the project and more about the values it delivers.

El PM actual debe analizar las características del problema o proceso o empresa a trabajar e identificar con que metodología se adapta mas y posteriormente cambia el rol a formador, apoyo y controlador del equipo de trabajo.

The new PMBOK 7 combined with the Agile Practice Guide, is a natural progression to how the way of the world operates. Having taken and passed the "knowledge area" centric PMBOK 5, PMP Exam in 2014, and the "Performance domain" centric, PMBOK 7, PMP Exam in 2024. A Project Manager who knows the differences of methodologies is needed to decide on the methodology to be used. Without a deep understanding of tailoring, or why a certain methodology should be used over another then a company is left to use their deep knowledge of buzz-words to decide how they will develop their products.

Con mucho respeto, para el 2023, Gerente de Proyecto que no este BIEN capacitado en Gerencia de Proyectos según PMI PMBoK7, es un Gerente de Proyectos parcial, no es un verdadero Gerente de Proyectos Profesional (PMP) que comprende y es capaz de aplicar (Tailoring) las diferentes formas de hacer proyectos para generar valor.

Decididamente hablamos de una ReConceptualización de la Gerencia de Proyectos PMI. Un Cambio a una MINDSET PMBoK7. "Los gerentes de proyectos y las organizaciones deben comprender la lógica y el propósito detrás del cambio, y cómo afecta su práctica y desempe?o actuales". El PMI y los que nos dedicamos a capacitar en Gerencia de Proyectos deberiamos proponer un proyecto de Change Management en cada capacitación de Gerencia de Proyectos según PMI PMBoK7.

Mi opinión, luego de conversar con muchos Gerentes de Proyectos de diferentes edades, #PMP y no #PMP con experiencia, es que para comprender BIEN el nuevo Sistema del #PMI #PMBoK7 se requiere obligante un mentor o tutor (con investigación y conversación con los creadores del Sistema del PMI PMBoK7) que te guíe para comprenderlo y usarlo en cada empresa. No es una lectura para autodidactas. NOTA: Cuando lo leí en Ingles por primera vez, rebote igual que muchos. Así fue mi caso para poder comprenderlo. Tuve que pedir ayuda.
