Go back to basics when there wasn't technology and pick-up the phone to continue, if it's a verbal interview, and reschedule any technical based interview. But either way let the candidate know that you are aware of the technical difficulty, put them at ease that you are trying to arrange a back-up platform if necessary. One needs to think on their feet so both the candidate or the interviewer doesn't lose rhythm.

In my experience of providing tech support to such meetings, I am usually coming into a meeting room where a problem is already underway. Clear communication with colleagues leading the interview, with minimal disruption to conversations that may already be underway, are key. This helps us identify the issue, and find a resolution quickly be that moving to an alternate device/service, or moving into another meeting room equipped with conferencing systems.
