Fullfill the requirements One of the most common design problems I encounter is falling in love with the idea of a garment but failing to consider how frequently it will really be used. I've created entire seasons that were essentially one-time statement gowns. Guess what? They were praised for their originality but did not sell. So I learnt my lesson as a designer: consider how frequently this item will be worn. The identical situation exists in my own closet. I had numerous pieces that I loved but could only wear a few times per year. I needed to design garments that I could wear on a daily basis and several times.

Get inspired and research hard! Get out and absorb the creativity around you whether it be from traveling, getting out in nature, going to art galleries, visiting vintage stores or going on an urban walk. Solve a problem with you design, or cater to a market which has never been considered! Be fussy and considerate with details, materials, and hidden extras which will help and enhance the users life.

Probably not. When developing a brand strategy for a product-based business, consistency is key. The brand's values need to align from the first interaction to the final sale and beyond. This turns customers into loyal brand ambassadors!
