The following steps are common in all industries: 1- Use this grouping instead of ABC analysis: a. High demand items - long delivery time b. Items with high demand and short delivery time c. Items with low demand and long delivery time d. Items with low demand and short delivery time. First of all, have an inventory control system for Group a. For group c and d, you can take it whenever you need it (one of the meanings of JIT). 2.You should also pay attention to the strategy of 'Inventory/Order Interface' when designing the product. In short, this strategy helps to complete the product when it is delivered to the customer and reduces the need for inventory and more investment.

An example I’ve seen, is when my local detailing delivery man comes at the same time every day. I can set my watch by him, he took me to play golf one time as I was always talking about golf, I don’t think he noticed my mk4 vr6, he thought I shared the same hobby. I gave it my best shot and tore up the field, by the 5th hole he drove me back to reception in an electric buggy and I’ve never seen him since so I switched from FedEx to ups for time being. True story.
