I am always curious about what creates a high-pressure environment. I say address the systematic issues associated with the ideal of high pressure and start the process of creating highly functional workplaces. It's like we brag about burning people out instead of creating spaces where thriving is the emphasis.

I agree that “structured” flexibility is key. Coaches/Therapists have to level the client’s accountability with where they are. While deadlines are important, understanding the root cause of any lack of progress can guide both the client and therapist toward meeting deadlines together.

Na minha experiência, o sucesso em meio ao caos vem com planejamento, organiza??o e comunica??o assertiva. Elencar prioridades e a cada tarefa realizada uma breve reflex?o faz com que a próxima sempre seja melhor executada.

Success in these high-pressure situations stems from effective team management, strategic planning, and clear communication. I prioritize client cases based on urgency and clinical needs, ensuring my team is aligned and working efficiently. Regular check-ins and transparent communication with both staff and families/clients help manage expectations and prevent surprises. I also leverage data-driven tools to track progress and make informed decisions. Empowering my team through delegation and offering support when needed ensures that we meet deadlines without compromising the quality of care. Flexibility and a proactive approach allow me to thrive even when faced with complex cases and tight timelines.

Focus on my breath. Focus on the highest priority first. Block out anything that is not of my concern. Help my colleagues when I'm able to to create the sense of team support. Laugh. Give love and presence fully to my patient when I'm with them. Turn the volume of my phone down. Ask for help... all the time! Thank people who help me... always! Have a very good management system to keep things flowing smoothly and timely to allow for breathing room when the unexpected happens, which is usually everyday. Talk to management about what we need help with. Meditate and yoga on my time off to keep practicing my personal state of inner calm. Only from that place am I even able to work in the hospital as an RN, BSN on the floor.
