While many people may think 'clashing' is a bad thing - I don't! Use it to your advantage: it's rarely personal but usually a question of perspective. We need to look at all sides of the rubrics cube and product (design, launch) is horribly complex! Best approach I have seen (not done it personally): have them defend each other's perspective - this was a mind bending experience since I had to defend something I was absolutely AGAINST ... until I understood the perspective. Interesting how we learn that in debate class and happily forget ...

I would advise the following 3 things: 1) Be the mediator when encouraging dialogue - be present, but be neutral. 2) Find a solid common base between the diverging stakeholders. When people can unite among a strong base aspect but go differently on the other things, you as the mediator can always bring them back to this "home plate" and use that as a reset. 3) If agreements can't be made without direct interference, take ownership and propose a compromise.
