I agree with this, even during publishing in some journals you would be required to identify which researcher led parts of the project to ensure that everyone cited contributed but also if there are any potential conflict of interest in the project which were not reported.

I have scarcely come across published pieces that disclosed any conflict of interests, which might be due to researchers fearing that such level of transparency could undermine their work. However acknowledging conflicts strengthens credibility and fosters a culture of honesty in the research community.
