How do you write a problem and solution statement for a proposal?

This is by far the most important step, and one that gets the least amount of attention as most people want to automatically move to solution mode. In my experience, using the 5 why's root cause analysis approach is really simple and highly effective to get to the root of the problem. Most problems (similar to water leaks), do not stem from where they appear, but are further up the chain and ensuring you truly understand "why" something has happened will lead to an effective solution.

Think of it as unveiling a puzzle, and you're the detective revealing why this puzzle needs solving. Be crystal clear and direct – no room for guessing games. Explain why this puzzle matters, like the ticking clock in a thrilling story. Your evidence – facts, figures, real-life anecdotes – is like the plot twist that keeps everyone hooked. So, remember, a strong problem statement isn't just the start; it's the foundation upon which your solution will stand tall.
