How do you verify or validate the accuracy and reliability of supplier quality reports?

It is important to consider the right metrics in the supplier quality report. The most important one are - Supplier issues & ppm @Customer end - Supplier performance @ End of Line - Capability values of the Critical dimensions/parameters Infact I would also add, Retention Rate @ supplier end as many times the issue happens due to the new manpower at critical station.

All the reports right from RM receipt to Final inspection should be available on demand including rejection & actions. Fore most thing is to capture & apply the lessons learnt as & when required.

Supplier quality management (SQM) is everything that goes into evaluating, documenting, and tracking supplier quality. Reviewing supplier inspection reports are gives us useful information on how their processes are in control and what extent the product meeting requirements/standards. Supplier need to send reports along with dispatch, so that Goods Receipt Note (GRN) can be done in accordance with quality requirements. All these documents are useful while conducting Internal auditing and training to new quality engineers.

Before evaluating reports, refer Quality Assurance Plans which is shared to supplier along with various standards agreed during the development of QAP. Randomly inspect the component at Inward Inspection and match the observations with Supplier Inspection Reports, if found any discrepancy verify measurement system of supplier prior to communicate to supplier regarding nonconformities.

*Evaluate Supplier's incoming inspection reports. * Evaluate supplier's CAPA effectiveness to their supplier's products Quality in meeting their Quality expectations * Work as a team member (consultant) to help them open communication and help them improve their processes and make sure that the deliverables meet drawings defined product expectations so you can deliver to your customers a product that meets or exceed their expectations all the time!

Things I did to confirm accuracy: 1) Receiving Inspection on receipt 2) Dock audits at the supplier 3) Process Audits at the supplier Any findings lead to documented follow up with confirmation, containment, and/or rework as needed
