There’s a lot more alignment than just grid and edge in my opinion. Looking at nature and traditional art layouts, you can see there is more than just sticking to the numbers. Alignment is the deeper art to layout. Adding movement through alignment with text or other elements adds to the whitespace and flow of the entire piece. It shows where a user can enjoy the experience without getting stuck in a basic grid stack. Push what you see and add to what you don’t.
Grid alignment is the alignment of the elements of your interface along horizontal and vertical lines or columns that form a grid. Grid alignment helps to create a structured, organized, and modular UI design that can adapt to different screen sizes and resolutions. Take that step back and see what outside sources there are to look at. Trust not only your own natural pattern recognition, but also what you’d expect someone close to you would do. If you have to delete your art, do it. Take what you’ve learned and go for it.
