It is important to create solutions that is globally scalable and yet tailored to meet specific needs. The challenge remains to have a sound process not only to problem solve but, most importantly, to problem find. No matter the platform, the essential feature is that technology shouldn't get in the way of the first process of divergent—thinking. So, the fast gathering of a very high amount of ideas/thoughts in the fastest way possible.

Any problem solving requires us to fist accept and identify that there is a problem! Approach to address any problem is to understand the root cause and to arrive at a solution through multiple round of discussion with multiple stakeholders who are involve in it. Next step is to identify the platform / technology which can address the identified solution. Always look out for any other option which is available and it can address the problem which can reduce time to deliver, optimize cost.

For example, about 5 years ago and for the first time, we employed project management software to define roles for designers, engineers, and materials experts. Each had specific responsibilities aligned with their expertise. This approach facilitated efficient problem-solving. When enhancing cabinet functionality, the engineer's role was clear—to evaluate mechanisms' feasibility. The software ensured seamless coordination and enhanced accountability, enabling us to streamline the problem-solving process and achieve kitchen cabinet designs that excelled in both aesthetics and functionality.

It's important to recognize that the adoption of new practices can differ across teams, often due to varying levels of technical proficiency. Depending on the task, we should be careful to provide too much structure in the beginning phases of the process. If the goal is to think creatively, we should let our minds freely flow. I would recommend using frameworks and structures at a later stage when we are in the process of sense-making of our ideas.

I believe that creating the safe environment for the team to express their ideas without judgement is the key to creative brainstorming sessions that lead to reaching the creative solutions we are looking for. It allows leaders and peers to hear the unheard valuable voices in the team.
