To create an empathy map, you need to gather data from your user research, such as interviews, surveys, observations, or personas. You can use a template or create your own, but the basic structure is a square divided into four quadrants, each labeled with one of the four aspects: say, do, think, and feel. You can also add a fifth section in the center for the user's name, role, or persona. Then, you need to fill each quadrant with notes, quotes, or images that reflect the user's perspective. For example, in the say quadrant, you can write down what the user said during the interview, or what they expressed as their needs or expectations. In the do quadrant, you can write down what the user did during the observation, or what actions they took to achieve their goals. In the think quadrant, you can write down what the user thought during the research, or what assumptions or beliefs they had about the problem or solution. In the feel quadrant, you can write down what the user felt during the research, or what emotions they experienced or expressed.
