One can also use the platform of podcasting to get the word out. These can be in the journal itself or via other relevant content creators.

Choosing the right platform is a must if your goal is to expand the reach and impact of your research. Buy a domain related to you or your research and use it to publish your thoughts or articles, feature your portfolio, and integrate a blog written in a proper academic style. Another excellent way is to use platforms like Tableau (if your research involves data and visualizations) to share your findings. You can share on the third-party platform and integrate any visualizations within your blog posts, subsequently doubling your exposure. Keeping your personal website articles on topic and maintaining a rigorous dedication to publishing high-quality material can go a long way in building the credibility of your work.

You do not have to guess when it comes to the most beneficial format for your audience. Use available metrics to make a data-driven decision on the appropriate platform and format for your target audience.

Use well-respected and well attended conferences and/or journals. The quality of the reviewers cannot be overstated. Getting real credibility for your research requires diligence and sometimes failure (for publication), but I can tell you from my experience and some others that have shared with me is that the iterative process of review/revise/resubmit is invaluable. A paper, after constructive criticism, becomes the best form. So, choose your publication methods wisely. I would avoid social media until the paper vetting has been completed. Do this and before you know it others are looking specifically for your publications. And please don’t use unvetted sites like arxiv until your paper is accepted in a reputable journal or conf.
