How do you share your professional learning goals with parents and teachers?

Sharing newly accepted science-based approaches to inclusive instruction delivery is a good start. Such as an applied behavior analysis approach to measure personal growth in the areas one teaches.

I think sharing your learning objectives with parents and teachers sets expectations on all sides, not least helping to align the student and teacher to the same goals. I don’t think it’s enough to just set the objective, I think all parties have to work towards chipping away at the goal itself, but accountability on all sides is useful.

Every week I have a professional development session with my faculty members in which I not only share my goals as a leader of the organisation but I also have lot of workshops on topics like Competency mapping, learning through the neural lens and same is carried out with the parents in the parenting sessions. I do share my YouTube channel with all which is the easiest to have an access to many topics at one go. My authored articles are available on the school website for ready reference. During the school PTA I don’t miss a chance to share my future goals with the parents through the technology aided classrooms, they are running continuously being aired along with all the pictures of learners.

Smart goals are so effective for myself to get what I need to accomplish done, especially with writing IEPs. In addition, I teach hoe to write and use smart goals to my scholars so that they can take part in hitting their IEP goals. It makes them so proud when they actually know what their goal is and how to track them.

Smart learning goals are challenging. An enthusiastic educator will create a host of goals that encompass personal growth, student needs, school culture, and time management. Avoid getting caught up by choosing either the thing you are good but not great at, or the areas that needs the most improvement. An open school culture would allow a smart goal that reads "over trimester one, I will reduce the about of time of I use or I will increase being on time by five minutes, four days of a five-day work week. Another goal might work on increasing parent communication.

In our digital age, communication is easier and faster when measured by 19th century standards. Email, PowerPoint/Google Slide Presentations, vlogs, and media-rich text messaging has provided a plethora of opportunities for communication. A lack of netiquette will also provide a challenging growth opportunity. If an educator is presently apprehensive about parent contact, aforementioned will not magically change their behavior. If you identify here, use the media to communicate with parents most frequently used to communicate with family, friends, and colleagues. If you are an emerging technology novice, ask a student to help you. They create stories, posts, and reels daily and would be glad to feel helpful.

I involve teachers every week for a professional development session on current developments in education, technology in education, research in education etc . I share the links of important relevant articles, videos on the what’s app group which has been created . On the same lines relevant articles , videos etc for parents are shared on the school website , school newsletter , at times through school social media page and group what’s app .

Surveys is a great tool here. Many will disagree on the grounds that surveys opens the doors to the complainers and hard to deal with parents. If one has this view, full maturation in the profession of education has not developed. All feedback is feedback. Modern vehicles, your computer, and even your nervous system measure feedback. This positive and negative feedback allows for robust adjustments. If you have gained the trust of your students parents, they will honestly complete your survey.

Potential challenges are overcome by our sourcing & delegating responsibilities. The Parent teacher association chair person takes care of all the nitty gretties of the parents , their availability, their likes , dislikes , wants , needs & desires from the school . Like wise the student council is involved in sharing information with the students through pre recorded videos in the respective classrooms.
