How do you share HR engagement and satisfaction results?

It is important that engagement survey results are cascaded from the top down. I would always start with the exec team. I have seen results that are particularly poor and we needed to put together a communication plan to go alongside the results to reassure people that their voice had been heard and action was going to be taken.

HR satisfaction and engagement surveys gain trust of employees if they are shared transparently, acknowledging areas of strength and focus areas. Employees gain trust in the process if the feedback remains confidential and positive changes happen on ground. But most important in this process is open communication about results and leadership commitment towards taking the feedback in a constructive manner, working on them and delivering results. In communication it is important to outline the achievements or improvements that were addressed based on feedback. This encourages employees to participate and engage in the whole process in a fair and uninhibited manner.

Sharing employee engagement reports to employees it’s like showing them mirror ??. Two things can happen: 1. You can look good in mirror 2. Also, you can look ugly in mirror It’s better to know the reality. If it’s point no. 1 - then you are all set. If it’s point no. 2- then you need make up artist ???? ( build your action plan and implement it) This is how, we can bell ?? the ?? cat!

Communicate... Communicate and communicate with each and everyone. Accept - Take survey results as is...no manipulation Celebrate - All good deeds/feedback shall be celebrated and think to improve further Action - Plan action for areas where survey results ask you to do...tell people that this is our plan to improve and close loop once plan is put to motion.

Based on personal perspective it’s important to address from a thoughtful approach by creating visually appealing reports and presentations that convey both quantitative and qualitative data. Utilize storytelling techniques to contextualize the findings, focusing on individual experiences and anecdotes to create a more relatable narrative. Host interactive feedback sessions or workshops to engage employees and managers in discussions about the results, encouraging their input on improvement strategies. This two-way communication approach fosters a sense of ownership and collaboration in enhancing workplace satisfaction.

Based on my personal experience, addressing the results of satisfaction surveys is of utmost importance through two distinct channels. Firstly, at the leadership level, communicating the organization's commitment to addressing the survey results to all employees is vital. Secondly, at the manager level, communicating specific team commitments on how the results will positively impact the lives of their direct reports is crucial. Through these channels, individuals can also exchange insights and experiences, fostering a more comprehensive understanding of the issues at hand.

Remember that the key to effective communication is to use channels and methods that are accessible, engaging, and interactive for your specific audience. Tailor your messaging to address the unique needs and concerns of different groups within the organization. Additionally, foster an open and transparent communication culture that encourages feedback, questions, and collaborative problem-solving to drive positive change based on the findings. Using various methods and platforms to communicate findings, especially in the context of sharing results from employee surveys or assessments, is essential for effectively disseminating information and ensuring that it reaches the intended audience.

I advocate that HR have a seat at the weekly executive meetings. Being able to share any impediments or wins quickly is critical to being able to handle situations that can escalate if not addressed.

I recommend utilizing visual tools like PowerBI or another reputable HRIS a similar application that can engage the audience and present results in a professional manner. This approach will streamline the presentation and deliver information clearly.

Transparency is key here. It's also important not to bombard employees with nonsensical language. Plain English with explanations of what the results mean are essential. With that there needs to also be an adult discussion about why x, y and z happened as a collective. Only then can you forge a path of actionable outcomes together.

Keep it simple that all level of employees (CEO to Security guard) read and understand it same. Consider and be bold to share even the negative feedback/results, that shows the honest and transparency.

To share HR engagement and satisfaction results effectively, compile and analyse data, create a concise report, and communicate findings through channels like all-hands meetings, emails, or intranet. Highlight key insights, encourage open dialogue, and set actionable goals. Follow up with regular updates, celebrate achievements, and maintain transparency to foster a culture of improvement and trust.

One thing I found helpful when sharing the engagement results is through the new staff onboarding process or meet with the head of department. If the information is shared through small groups or a one-to-one session, it will help the learning process of the organisational, and departmental culture better. This will give the employees a sense of transparency and the information can be absorbed clearly. Similar to what other contributors have added - plain English is still essential during the session.

You can gain a lot of trust from your team by showing not just the great results, but the challenging ones from your survey. By sharing the tougher feedback in a public forum, your team is able to see for a fact that leadership hears it and knows that no one is turning a blind eye to the facts, even when they're hard to hear. Knowing that their honest feedback will be addressed, even when it's tough, makes it more likely they will continue sharing their honest feedback in future.

Don't share the outcome of the survey with the broader employee base until the leaders have reviewed and digested the results, and a plan is in place to address the big action items. Get clear on what you're going to do, how you'll measure it, and how you'll communicate results, and then share those things. This isn't an excuse to hold on to engagement survey results for weeks: get to action stat with a goal to communicate your plans ASAP.

Highlight them in a clear and simple manner. The top 3 celebrations and the bottom 3 issues we need to work on. Limiting it to digestable chunks has proven to be very effective for my clients who want to take proactive action to improve their results the next time.

I think very core in communicating ES results is to connect them to actions that were made and executed from previous one to show that improvements are done. And then of course choose channels, frequency, right communication format and comparison with benchmark, identify key areas of focus.

More than highlighting goals, actions, and outcomes, it is fundamental to nominate owners to the tasks involving the whole team in the change. It is very easy to point out what is wrong. We do it everyday in our minds and our small talk with colleagues. The hard part is to roll up the sleeves and be a part of the effort to change. Owners help engage the group in small tasks that when added, will make the difference. Remember that nothing is more disengaging than seeing nothing changes after an engagement survey. And this happens a lot more often that companies would like to admit.

It is important to ensure every one of your stakeholders feels they have a hand on the wheel of the actions and outcomes. The actions and outcomes should not be things that happen to your managers or employees, they should be things that happen with your stakeholders.

Here's where you need a seasoned facilitator. I've seen many a manager be given this task, to their detriment. A seasoned facilitator should be a neutral party who can create a safe environment and enable a fulfilling conversation and way forward for all.

Employees spend a lot of time in the workplace. HR engagement can be measured by celebrating moments of joy and wins together. Reaching the company's target can be associated with providing out-of-work events and celebrating employees birthdays to boost their morale and make them feel appreciated.

It might sound monotonous, but there is opportunity to innovate and thrive. It is super important that employees believe that the entire leadership team is reviewing and taking the results seriously, not just HR. Otherwise, it fails its purpose. Engagement surveys are meant to be a tool to support the entire company in delivering better, not just the HR team.

More often than not, engagement surveys become like black boxes, where feedback is collected but never genuinely acted upon. However, by openly and transparently communicating about the survey results in a timely manner, and by providing employees with the opportunity to reflect, challenge, or address the feedback before finalizing actions, the feedback can truly become invaluable. Only through validation and open exchange can engagement survey results yield the best outcomes. This approach not only encourages employees to use the survey to submit feedback but also promotes an ongoing open communication channel within the organization, supporting a culture of continuous feedback, even when the engagement survey is not actively running

Indeed, recognizing even the smallest achievements, nurturing a positive workplace culture, and elevating HR engagement are pivotal. We can implement weekly team-building activities, recognition initiatives, and flexible work arrangements to promote employee well-being. Furthermore, conducting individual interviews to understand and cater to specific needs and providing avenues for skill development and career advancement can significantly enhance the organization and the team.

Something else to consider is what prompts engagement in the first place! Engagement is driven by good relationships with coworkers, enjoying the work environment, and feeling connected to the company's mission. If all else fails - focus on these things to improve your teams' experience.

If you're only looking at favorability scores ("x% of people agreed that ___"), you're ignoring the most important data! Conducting driver analysis to determine which topics most directly correlate to high or low overall engagement is the most useful part of the survey. It tells you which levers to pull. If you're acting on the topics with the lowest favorability scores, but aren't checking to see if those topics actually impact an employees response to questions like, "I still see myself working here in 3 years" then you're wasting your time and resources addressing something that doesn't really impact engagement. You're better off zeroing in on higher-impact statements, even if the favorability scores aren't as drastic.
