In my experience it is very important to identify the issues that the customers are facing, however that could not be the case just by identifying the issues but to see the greater picture of the business and the ecosystem where they/customer exist. very important that customer should realise that things in their mind or plans they have made are how good they are in terms of short term and long term. What term they/customer have defined to achieve the goals. Long term (how much time) and short term (based on long term). rest of the solutions and products and skills come afterwards. Once it becomes clear that customer is willing to go to next step then before implementation Impact analysis should be documented i.e. North South East West.

The best way to iterate is to look for existing example around you and in the world. where it is happening just improvise, and adjust according to your environment. if we try to reinvent then its a waste of time! Same with case of product development look for customer who have acceptability, any customer will work in your case!

There are two factors come to my mind, for collaborate and learn. one positive and one negative. in both cases impact should be assed and re-assed and then break it into smaller models and the open up for other to try and criticise and realise like minded should come to gather and make a bigger picture and it becomes a continues cycle! learn and collaborate. Other idea is to make things available multilingual! that will open up more un chartered ideas to all to share and take benefit. may be shorten the cycle.

It is crucial to protect your ideas from being misused very much essential to use latest means of encryption and authentication to protect your idea unauthorised use. Other way to protect ideas is to do things in separate block like lego pieces and when you join them together it makes one thing that works and can not be separated.

Technology usage and enhancement again are both crucial factor for your survival and retaining customer. updating technology increases the cost and by not doing can take your customer out of competition. So to keep up with technology you need to keep R&D budget to better future products and reviewing the current products have them available in a 3-5 years cycle. By offering option to change with 2nd year and or revamping the whole structure if required!

For the services offering by a company is becoming simple fact once the products are ready, then FQA's are developed, in order to do listen and feedback and improve, a simple AI can take care of it passively and feedback can be measured at the back end for sustenance and performance and market positioning etc.

Application for Services or SaaS model is long in the market that is making the paradigm shift in the apps usage scenarios. Now if a SaaS is bought by any customer then they are not to continue however what will make the difference for them to chose our services for time to come. I think soon it will be localised offering that will shift development to local needs. and The shifting cycle naturally come back to distributed apps and services according to needs of the customer area. From centralised to centralised. situation will always take its natural life cycle to change the readiness of any company offering to adapt change in their offerings is the challenge. Big companies like Google, AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM are on move constantly.
