One thing I've found helpful is to get on the same page with designer, business analyst and user. I have always used Figma as tool for design, however I have found beneficial to feed the users feedback in the design, once we had already a structure in mind. A design vision has to be in place - especially for IoT systems

During the rapid prototyping phase, I always foster a mentality of boosting the "manual work". Automation has to be reduced to a bare minimum and a Oz Wizard approach has to be taken into account. Python is helpful to get something in place during this phase, however only the core script is functional and not polished, inputs; outputs; APIs call; database and data in general are manually managed.
