I agree with what is currently provided, however in my experience it doesn’t explain how often you need to reassess the situation from a construction viewpoint. It is almost like a never ending re-evaluation of the changing priorities. Some examples include: Is rain forecast in the immediate area? How about rain upstream of the construction site and how well are you prepared? Are there winds expected to increase just as the team need to undertake intense earthmoving activities? Or will the increased winds prevent the weed sprayers from completing their works (even though you scheduled them weeks in advance)? Will a changed construction program of works affect the approvals that you need? All require reassessment by the environment team.

The next step is to communicate with your team and stakeholders about the deadline change and how it affects your work. You should inform them as soon as possible and explain the rationale, expectations, and consequences of the change. Actionable advice: Quickly arrange a meeting or send a detailed update explaining the change and revised plans. Clear communication maintains trust and allows for collaborative adaptation to new schedules, ensuring smooth project continuity.
