A third challenge in ERP project management is user adoption and training. User adoption refers to the extent to which the end-users accept and use the new ERP system, while training refers to the process of educating and preparing the users for the system. User adoption and training are critical for the success of ERP projects, as they affect the system performance, functionality, and benefits. However, user adoption and training can be difficult due to the varying levels of skills, knowledge, and experience with the system, as well as different expectations, preferences, and attitudes toward the system. Additionally, users may have different learning styles, needs, and preferences, and may face resistance, fear, or anxiety to change. To overcome these challenges, ERP project managers should conduct a user analysis and assessment to understand the user profiles, needs, and expectations, define the user adoption and training strategy, plan, and schedule, involve the users in the system design, testing, and feedback process, provide user-friendly documentation, manuals, and guides for the system, deliver user training in various formats, such as online, classroom, or on-the-job, and provide user support, coaching, and feedback during and after the system implementation.
