In my experience, there are two (-probably more, all models are wrong-) types of engineers. Some feel best with a high emphasis on process and structure, they go into fields like quality, safety, and SE. Others are more inclined towards finding innovation by trial and error, often found in the SW disciplines. Both are important for innovation and can benefit from each other! However, you need to be aware who you are talking to and make sure you address topics in a way that your counterparts brain is willing to receive.

The hard part about prioritizing is not seeing what is "essential". It is saying that the other aspects are "not important" to "nice to have". This assessment might be wrong and come back to haunt you later. It takes a strong failure culture in an organisation to prioritize effectively. Or rather to de-prioritise effectively.

Great tools are necessary, but be aware of their weaknesses. Agile methodologies can pigeon hole a whole team into marching in one direction. If it turns out not to be the right direction, a big pivot may be necessary, but it might be harder to identify and act upon once the cogs are in motion.

Unpopular opinion: Tools are THE key. They are the interface of the curious to the methods and mindsets underneath. If the interface is not attractive, I will not pull anyone in to my mindset and methodologies. Popular belief among SE's is: It is a mindset first, then methods, and the tool is just a vehicle of delivery. This is true, but does not serve well in practice -in my experience.
