How do you maintain your professional network over time?

As a member of BNI in my 25th year now it is important to stay fresh and relevant. Be consistent but varied. Always have a smile on your face even when you may not feel like smiling. Really get to know your network. Don't be a 90 minute member. Take time to like and share their posts. If someone is absent from your group take the time to enquire after their health. Inject some humour into your presentations. Keep up to date not just with your own discipline but that of others so that you are able to engage in a meaningful way.

El contacto regular mucho más allá de los momentos netamente laborales es fundamental. Me funciona muy bien el uso de los recordatorios de cumplea?os y el enviar una tarjeta de felicitaciones en estos momentos memorables así como navidad, a?o nuevo, día de las madre, etc. Siempre es agradable recibir un saludo de alguien especial en esos momentos especiales.

Ive been on Linkedin since 2007 when it really first hit the UK, since then Ive been on it almost every day since, its my first go to who can I speak/connect with next platform I love watching what my contacts are up to and it very often inspires me as I start a new working day You get to know what people are really like and it prompts you to like and acknowledge too which is great to think you are giving someone else a small boost, which we all need now and then, dont we I love it, there is nothing else that comes close as a positive business platform imo

Networking is an an ongoing activity as I always quote this to anyone who wants to master the art of networking. It is so important to maintain and sustain relationships build through professional networking. I try to stay connected with my network by liking, commenting, posting on their posts,wishing them on birthdays, work anniversary, promotion, new job etc celebrating their success, coffee catch ups(in person/virtual) and just being curious to learn how they are doing, exchanging knowledge. The mantra for maintaining network is taking interest in what they do and listening tho them.

Networking thrives on reciprocity. Offer value by sharing articles, making introductions, or lending your expertise. Be proactive and supportive, building relationships where both parties win.

Considero que generar contenido de valor es sumamente importante, como la creación de artículos relacionados con el nicho del contacto que deseo mantener. Previo a ello, se entiende que ya he estudiado su estructura y conozco cuáles son sus intereses. O bien, dejándoles comentarios argumentados en su perfil profesional.

Siempre es importante preguntarnos ?qué necesita esa persona que pueda yo aportar en un momento, determinado? y estar allí para esa persona, sin necesidad que te lo pidan directamente; el hecho de poder llegar con una ayuda que necesitan antes que te lo pidan, tiene doble valor.

I do a weekly live stream called "The Coffee Table Talks" and make it available on a variety of platforms. The format is very casual and leaves room for audience participation. I also encourage others to talk to one another through personalized introductions. Above all else- I am available and listen. Only when I understand a person's personal goals can I support their professional goals with success.

There is no replacement for being genuine. Get to know the human behind the professionals you develop relationships with. But this intention must be pure, not for the sake of attempting to earn business. One is natural, one is forced. As rapport and trust is built over time of developing these relationships, opportunity to do business will come.

I reach out to former co-workers on social media, by email, or text... whenever I think of them. I respond to their posts. I particularly enjoy reading and responding to my friend's photography blog - someone I worked with for a year in 2011!

I both love and hate networking events... beforehand. I force myself to go, and I talk to people once I'm there. I've made friends, connected colleagues who weren't there, and found new clients. It's always worth it! I also try to invite a colleague who I've not seen for a while to join me - then we'll both know at least one other person there. 8-)

Soy fan del networking. Considero que hay un porcentaje bastante significativo de personas que subestiman el poder de esta práctica. Afortunadamente, no formo parte de ese porcentaje, ya que he tenido resultados maravillosos con esta práctica y en estos eventos. La realidad es que realmente me tomo mi tiempo para conocer sus intereses antes de hacer un primer contacto.
