Ideally, defect priority shouldn’t change over the duration of its life, as it is based on how it would be classified if it were happening in a production environment. However, as knowledge of the software matures, and credible workarounds evolve, the critically maybe reduced in order to help promote software to live. Beware not to promote software with too many workarounds however as you may trade one issues for a complicated technical debt situation.
