The key thing as a partner in #techtransfer is to understand how research institution tech transfer offices (TTOs) work and what are the metrics that make them tick. The key metrics for success that evaluate the offices are: 1) Number of licenses 2) Number of startups 3) Number of patents filed (this is somewhat subjective and dependent almost solely on the budget of the institution) 4) Number of inventions received 5) Licensing revenues There are other factors like engagement with faculty and students are getting important as well. So, when partnering with the institutions you have to be cognizant what they are looking for in their deal.
