There are many free educational resources on YouTube and other places that aspiring bilingual communicators can access to learn to speak, read, and write another language. As much as I would love to use this shared space to shamelessly self-promote, I’ll politely save space and list a few helpful resources below. 1.) World Linguistics TV (YouTube/podcast) 2.) Learn Spanish Pod (YouTube/podcast/educational website) 3.) Duolingo Spanish Podcast. Most people know about Duolingo as the one of the most popular in the industry, but the first two are better because one of them gives you access to a multilingual human and the second one gives you access to diversified materials. It all comes down to 1.) preference and 2.) how you learn best.

I am a fluent Spanish speaker and speak English too! I have come to realize over the years that my writing in Spanish could use more grammar practice. It is easy to forget when one language is being used more than the other. One of my favorite ways to reclaim that skill is to write it out and read it out loud. I am more of a visual and hands-on learner so writing in Spanish is a good way to strengthen skills.
