Use tools and techniques that support consistency
A fourth step to keep business architecture artifacts consistent across agile teams is to use tools and techniques that support consistency. These can include software tools that enable modeling, storing, sharing, and managing business architecture artifacts; techniques that facilitate alignment, integration, and traceability of the artifacts across different levels and domains; and methods that measure and improve the consistency and value of the artifacts. For example, some tools and techniques that can support consistency are:
- Business Architecture Information System (BAIS) : A software tool that provides a comprehensive and integrated repository for business architecture artifacts, as well as capabilities for analysis, visualization, and reporting.
- Business Architecture Alignment Matrix (BAAM) : A technique that maps the relationships and dependencies between business architecture artifacts and other elements, such as strategy, requirements, processes, systems, and metrics.
- Business Architecture Value Scorecard (BAVS) : A method that evaluates the consistency and value of business architecture artifacts based on criteria such as completeness, accuracy, relevance, and usefulness.
