Along with adopting best practices of strategy development, leveraging partnerships and co- creation of solutions, I have experienced regular and transparent communication with the community stakeholders ensures accountability, ownership and justifies room to be flexible with the plan. In the end, it is the community's reality that counts and believing in their agency is a non negotiable in creating a great outreach programme. Additionally, the fear of rejection/failure/ challenges are integral part of the process and those need to carefully observed for patterns to understand and derive a navigation tool effectively.

I’m a part of a community organization is planning to adopt a three year strategic plan instead a five year to focus on what is meaningful and what will sustain membership. It is important to set a few realistic measurable goals that can be attained in a short timeframe. One other important component that helped was including all members in the strategic planning sessions. The members felt valued being able to participate in an important process.
