Change agents and influencers are not necessarily the same. Change agents have the authority, responsibility, and skills to implement the change, such as project managers, sponsors, or leaders. Influencers have the trust, credibility, and network to influence the attitudes and behaviors of others, such as peers, experts, or champions. Tools such as the stakeholder analysis or the power-interest matrix can identify your change agents and influencers, and understand their roles, interests, and expectations.
