Something I consider when having an open window of say Excel for instance. Office likes to turn on auto save, which can be nice. However I find that I don't actually like to have it on in the case of I accidentally type or do something to my file and have it auto save my mistakes, rather I find it more useful to have it turned off and ask me if I wish to save before exiting. Just remember to save often and remember this let's you review your changes first before it saves.
