Avoiding adverse selection is key here. If you know there are some people who will like / agree with your POV and you only ask them for feedback, you're inviting trouble. Relatedly, It's important to have a sample size large enough to avoid bias. But it is even more important to ensure the quality of the feedback in early stages is reliable. The sampling process of whom you want to bounce your idea off of is critical. What helps is to have a clear customer persona defined. Sharing the customer persona also lends some important info to your supporter before sharing their feedback on the product
