I think the best way to be professional in the mobile development field is to practice officially by building real mobile apps. Express your knowledge with certificates is a great achievement so you can find some helpful courses provided by Google and Apple for Android & iOS

As an experienced iOS developer with a background in e-commerce, fintech, and others, I've worked on numerous freelance projects. Currently, I'm engaged in a small-scale fast-ordering system. I believe in continuous self-improvement for both iOS and Android development, recognizing that technology is ever-evolving. In general, having at least one certification in any field, not just mobile development, is advantageous for job prospects and personal growth. Certifications can lead to better salaries and broader networks, but they must be complemented by practical experience. With experience, one can tackle more complex applications and appeal to corporate clients, making continuous learning and adaptation essential in the tech industry.

I worked in an Electricity Distribution Company as a mobile app developer for 3years and I am looking out for more exposure in the mobile development world. and it has not been easy landing a position.

While certificates are good to have if you are starting out as a mobile application developer and want to stand out from the crowd, but when it comes to more experienced roles, your projects, work, knowledge and skills matter the most. So while certificates are good to get an entry level job, they rarely help out with better and more paying roles.

If you want to obtain certifications, your primary focus should be on certifications offered by top companies in the field. Since these often require a budget, they may not be accessible to everyone, but for those continuing to work in this area, it doesn't pose a significant problem. Investing your budget and time in certifications can be seen as an investment in yourself. Google's Android certifications are considered top-tier in this field. However, Apple hasn't offered certification programs for a while, and while some still hold these certifications, they may be somewhat outdated. If you're interested in Apple certifications, you can explore courses on platforms like Coursera, offered by reputable companies covering same fields.

From my Experience and in my Field(Android Development) Most famous one is Associate Android Developer Certification but for a reason I don't know why, there have been no Exams for the past 4 years. So other Alternative, I would suggest Android Certified Application Developer by Advanced training Consultants because it's not a theory exam but a practical one which you can easily pass if you have been developing many Android Mobile Applications

One option you can go for is the React Native Specialisation by Meta on coursera. It gives you perspective from very basic to intermediate.

When it comes to iOS Development and related certifications, it has always been unclear and confusing to many developers. Reason is, there is no official certifications from Apple. This usually is strange as an iOS Developer, as people with other professions usually have many certification options, which both adds to their education, and tells recruiters clearly what this person has in terms of skills. However, this is absent when it comes to iOS Development. Then what's the alternative? If the main purpose of a course is to showcase/prove a professional's skillset, then as an iOS developer, your options lays within your past work experience and writing open source projects which showcases your code and what you can do.

Although there are many options to get certified, I am listing a few that help me. - Google App Scale Academy. - Google for Startups. - LinkedIn Android Top Skill badge. - Simply Learn. - IBM Certificates by Creativity Classes. - TechGig programming certificate. - Udemy Even few of them are free of cost. To succeed in mobile application certification exams, you need a strong foundation of knowledge in the field since these exams are time-limited and require proficiency in all relevant topics. Generally, after algorithms, there will be questions under dozens of topic headings in the advanced areas waiting for you. Merely understanding the subject and having basic coding skills are not enough at this point. Rapid progress is possible if you have experience in developing software in this field and are familiar with GitHub code repositories. Of course, blogs, books, cookbooks, and question platforms like LeetCode, HackerRank will also help expedite your progress.

All the resources mentioned here are really good. An addition to it is, make more small projects which do very little things like navigation for example. Make another one that can have some input fields and saves the inputs. This way you will gain more practical experience and not overwhelm yourself with a lot of new things to learn at once.

For the iOS Programming certification I would suggest official Swift documentation and books that are being provided and updated annually by Apple itself.

The best way to prepare for certification is: - List out a few certification companies - Get a cariculam and read all carefully - Compare all of them - Do research on the content quality and select the best one. - Now learn one topic a day and practice that as much as you can for that whole day - Next day select the next topic and do the same. - After a week review these topics and evaluate yourself on some free tests available on Google. - If results are good, just go for next week's topics else review last week's topic again in just 2 days and reevaluate. - Now repeat this process until you cover all topics from the cariculam. - Now Go for a Complete test paper. - And if results are good, just go for the real certification test. Preparing for coding tests is simple... code, code, code... Give yourself tasks to complete and apps to build and tackle it as hard and fast as you can, then have people who arent developers try to use it and see what they say.

The exam registration process is pretty straightforward, and the exam is taken through Pearsonvue, which is well know for such processes. There are 2 exam types with different curriculums: - App Development with Swift Associate - App Development with Swift Certified User You pick the one that suits you, and book the exam date. All the rest is handled my email and profile notifications.

In relation to my experience, I would say that for both the exam and the certification, which already includes the exam, I had in mind that it was just one of the ways of studying the subject, I included any means of teaching the subject I know how to certification that I did, and I always reviewed things in the context of nature, as all inventions originate from experiences with interaction in nature, so I abstract the themes to the extreme, I analyze them in these ways, and that is my approach.

Although certifications can help you in certain ways, but as a developer getting in mobile development, a better way is to create a portfolio and contribute in open source. Build small apps following best practices and put them on your Github. This will help you in creating and showcasing a portfolio, while at the same time you will be able to highlight all the skills and tech stack you have learned. A lot of companies now prefer Github profile over LinkedIn profile for developers hiring. Another way for open source is to fix other open source mobile app projects' issues. There are numerous organizations like Mozilla, DuckDuckGo, Automattic, CashApp etc who have open source apps on Github and needs help of developers like you and me.

Certifications are like referrals for a Job. They might take you to an interview, but to clear it you will need real skillset. So yes, certifications may help you reach a certain audience & build your worth around in the market, but you will definitely fail in an instant if you took the certification just for the sake of certification. For developers, DO something. Create code. Build small projects from idea to publishing. Work on improving code quality. While doing all of that, put your code to open-source, that should be your Facebook. You might not even need a certification then, or then the certification itself might come running to you!

The certificate is just a piece of paper or digital format that you can obtain but, if you really want to learn something new or show your skill to the world. you have to make some apps using the latest tech Stack and then show them to the Expert Developers in the portfolio. The developer is not bound to the industry they need is skills if you really a skilled developer everyone will accept. if you still face the issue you can try working as a freelancer where your work will speak rather than certificates and other things. Sharpening the skill will overcome the certificates

My experience has put me in a position many many times in which i am tasked with building or developing processes that dont exist. Critical thinking at a broad level cant be taught as easily as it can be learned through experience. Ask questions from people who are better than you in your field and experiment. Build until it breaks then fix what is broken. Try new things. Get creative. If you wantto know what will happen if you do -×- ... try it and see! These are the best lessons learned in over 20+yrs in development.

In my opinion, courses help when you are novice to the topic and want to start and delve in to it quickly with less effort. It is also a means to get a "mentor" easily that shows you the way at the beginning. Other than that courses and certification doesn't take you longer. Trying to dig documentations and building your portfolio is the best way to grow as a mobile developer.
