How do you find the best opportunities for GMP innovation?

In my opinion, GMP stands for good manufacturing practice but this too often also means “gargantuan money problem”. Let’s not drive up quality and forget about the pricing issue. We need affordable products. Therefore, one big innovation field within GMP is simplification! Let’s review processes and production systems and identify the important corner stones and rethink what is essential and what not. In short: Innovation via simplification.

1. Assess Your Current State: Create a Value Stream Map (VSM) to visualize and document the entire GMP process. 2. Identify Value and Waste: Highlight areas that add value and those with inefficiencies or waste. 3. Gather Data: Collect both quantitative and qualitative data on current GMP performance. 4. Analyze Bottlenecks: Identify and analyze points of delay or inefficiency. 5. Engage Stakeholders: Involve team members to gain insights and validate findings. 6. Benchmark: Compare your practices with industry leaders to set improvement goals and identify innovation opportunities. 7. Document Findings: Record observations to inform strategies and establish benchmarks for continuous improvement.

By accessing the low/pain points and level them to the standards of the high/good points, higher GMP status will be reached. Keeping in touch with what is desire will elevate GMP performance

GMP compliance in my experience for the last 9 years. it all comes back to the 5Ps. especially in developing countries like Papua new Guinea, compliance to GMP is more to do with the people's attitudes and behavior towards their roles, responsibilities especially in a food manufacturing/Processing set up; that is the gap most of us are facing currently and the only corrective action that I see its effective, is more trainings and disciplinary actions with the support from the top managements. A change in peoples attitude towards GMP is first and most priority, than the other falls inline

SMART is a good start but I always believe that saying what you feel and pinpointed your strengths will get everybodt everwhere

I like to say "GMP is formal documentation of Common sense," therefore getting the right mind of people for the jobs in the FMCG industry especially in the developing countries will elevate the future in the industry.

I think the ability to do the best practices in conjuntion with what is achievable, the best goal will be met. Learning from other is more sensible and gives more satisfaction

This is the most time consuming part. Doing it in a group of dedicated colleagues will be easier. Also will get the best result of the set goal

There has to be always a reflect moment. This part can provide data that can get the set goal to a more higher level and desire. This will move not only the goal but the company as a whole to a much higher level. However interpreting result is not easy
