How do you explain Machine Learning problems to different people?

Business value generated or cost saved/generated Though it's always a challenge to carve out the explain these terms, but these steps help in general.

So when I explain any problem to some1 else, doesn’t matter their background, I’m always trying to use simplest possible concepts, without using too much big tech words. I found out that people are way more eager to accept your solution of a problem, when they feel they understand it

This empowers students to not just follow along but to actively engage, ask questions, and ultimately understand the subject deeply.

Making people understand the crux of machine learning is a challenge. Depending on your audience one has to articulate the words so that they can understand the concepts of machine learning. Often times it is confused with AI and Data science. But one must share the thought that ML is necessary for making predictions based on a set of data whereas AI is creating systems that can replicate human-like thinking. While the end results of data science converge with making final predictions using ML models. It is not same as data science which deals with gauging insights from data after data-preprocessing, normalization and many more.

Speak the language of your listener. Avoid technical jargon unless absolutely necessary and you take the time to explain it in simple terms to them. Use simple metaphors and examples that are related to the subject matter domain and topics they care about.
