First, you need a career development plan to evaluate in the future. A plan is evidence concern for progress and growth. This has personal fulfilment. A review helps find better ways to influence tough stakeholders and seek help where necessary. Thus meeting CDP KPIs timely. I prefer a times-segmented evaluation. Monthly informally and quarterly recorded with feedback. It is important to stay abreast with peers and career level aspiration, to remain on my growth curve as it were. I reviewed my know-how due to setback; changing companies, industries, job titles (Engineer to SHE, Operational Excellence, Head of Manufacturing). They required additional know-how to be more than conversant as a subject matter expect. I acquired necessary qualifications including starting LLB and PhD. The plan cannot be stagnant. Continual learning is the lifeblood of a career. I try to aim for not more than 5 goals. As I go towards the end I review and seek what could be added for the next coming 6 months. The plan must be current.

It's a good practice to evaluate your career development plan at least once a year. This visual representation can reveal patterns and connections you might have missed. ??Future Letter: Write a letter to your future self describing where you want to be and what you've achieved. This exercise can help clarify your vision and commitment. ??The 5 Whys: Continually ask "why" to dig deeper into the reasons behind your goals. This technique helps uncover your true motivations and helps you refine your plan.

The best way to evaluate my PERSONAL career plan is with my ideal roles. Future (and 65% of current) role requirements from job descriptions of best companies provides a basis for my evaluation template. Based on gaps I identify; I do SWOT analysis, use Weakness and Threads as feeders to the new plan. Then I seek learning institutions and networks that will help me along. To enhance evaluation, I solicit 360-degree feedback from others. They feel valued when I ask for feedback from them. I go not only to people whom I think like me. On strengths I continue to use then and exploit opportunities to achieve short- and medium-term good results for my team and organization. It is after all for my strengths that I was hired.

What can you learn from that alternate to improve your plan? ??Wikipedia Test: Pretend your career journey is written as a Wikipedia article. Is it detailed and impactful? If not, consider what you can do to enhance it. ??Post-It Priorities: Use colorful post-it notes to prioritize your career goals. Rearrange them regularly to reflect shifting priorities. ??Five-Year Fast Forward: Imagine it's five years from now, and you've achieved everything in your plan. Reverse engineer the steps you took to get there.

Prioritize skills (high, middle, low) 3. Make a plan (make a timeline on a daily basis what skill and for how long (e.g. 5 days/5 months) you want to practise) with a tick column where you can make a mark if you made it 4. Remove distractors (TV, Mobile phone, etc.) 5. Stick to the plan THEN 6. Analyze your devotion (on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly basic) by comparing how many ticked boxes you had for every skill and write down what were the distractors so you can remove them or make them have a smaller influence

It is best whenever possible to align a personal development plan with the organizational performance management plan. In this way the line manager is aware of your aspirations and at times company funds can assist you to achieve your goals to close gaps (which is an investment in you and a financial win). You must though show improvement in personal productivity in a short space of time. This is thrilling.
