This is vital to the strength of an LMS. If a system is not growing and adapting to meet its users needs then it will not survive. Content of course should be updated regularly to keep lessons fresh and relevant, but in terms of products/platforms, I feel that some of the larger players tend to leave out the needs of the everyday user. Instead of embracing the feedback and criticisms that can make it the best user experience for teachers and students alike, companies oftentimes prioritize profit or investor input over that of educators.

We address this periodically amongst our team and with our LMS vendor. It is always nice when the vendor pushes out a new feature that your learners have been needing/wanting in their portals. Knowing what your learners need is critical to keeping them engaged with the content and platform. Listen to their feedback good and bad to make a better decision for the org.

Most LMS systems meet known teaching and learning requirements. But some allow a creation of learner-centric transformations and others are just technical solutions and may not offer the best possible student experience. I would start with the student journey and see which one is more intuitive and easy to use for students, then of course check them against all the requirements with a score matrix looking at requirement criteria, efficiency, ease use and interface design etc.
