Metadata is the data about the data. Metadata is necessary because it contains information about the data source, reliability, specifications, resolution and the time the data was collected. All of this factor ensures the accuracy of the analysis. I can trust an analysis better when the analyst can give me detailed information about the data. Data can either be from a primary or secondary source. Metadata is necessary for standardization.
